Michael Fischer builds the parts of a Scottsdale home that face the weather and the view. For most of our clients that means two things: opening up the back wall of the house with a sliding or folding glass system, and turning the space on the other side of it into somewhere you'd actually spend a Saturday. Residential work only, free quotes, and the same crew from the first measurement to the final walkthrough.
Where the House Opens Up to the Yard
Valley homes live outdoors eight months a year, and the hinge point is usually a single wall. We design and install custom folding door systems, sliding glass walls, and accordion door wall openings — the kind that stack back and leave nothing between the living room and the patio. That work takes structural planning, not just a door order, so we handle the header, the track detail, and the threshold as one piece of the job.

On the other side, our backyard, patio and pool design work covers custom pool installations, outdoor kitchens, hardscaping, pergolas, and full backyard transformations. Plenty of projects start as one and grow into the other once a client sees the two drawn together — a pergola lines up with the new door opening, the outdoor kitchen sits where the grill already was, the hardscape runs to meet the pool deck.

How an Exterior Project Runs
Exterior work has more unknowns than interior work — grade, drainage, setbacks, utilities, HOA rules. We front-load all of it so the surprises happen on paper instead of halfway through a pour.
- We walk the property and measure, including grade changes, existing utility runs and the wall you want opened up.
- We put together a free quote with a scope you can read line by line.
- Our in-house drafting turns it into AutoCAD plans and a floor plan you can mark up.
- You see the 3D renderings — door openings, pergola proportions, pool and deck layout — before anything is ordered.
- We pull permits and schedule trades in the order the work actually needs them.
- We manage the build day to day and walk the finished job with you.
Drawings, Renderings and Permits
Architectural design and project management is a service we sell on its own, and it's the reason our exterior jobs don't stall. AutoCAD drafting, 3D renderings, floor plan development and permitting are all done in-house, so when a city reviewer asks a question there's someone on our side who drew the answer. Michael Fischer is licensed, bonded and insured, carries an and holds Arizona ROC General Dual License #327028.
Everything gets drafted in-house — AutoCAD plans, 3D renderings, floor plans. You see the whole thing before we build any of it.
That same drafting work carries over to the inside of the house. If an exterior project touches an interior room — and the ones with new glass walls almost always do — we can take the living room renovation, the kitchen remodeling or the bathroom next to it through the same set of drawings rather than handing you off to someone else.
Neighborhoods We Work In
We take exterior projects in Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Cave Creek, Rio Verde, Carefree and Phoenix. Lot conditions change a lot across those six — a hillside lot in Paradise Valley and a flat Rio Verde lot need different drainage and different foundations for the same pergola — which is why we measure in person before quoting anything.
To get started, call (602) 329-2517 or email hemimike@yahoo.com. We're at 11153 E. Karen Drive, Scottsdale, AZ 85255, and we take calls Monday through Saturday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. Closed Sunday. Quotes are free.
